The U.S. Department of the Interior has granted the Office of Federal Acknowledgement an extension to make a decision on the Nipmuc applications for recognition until May 1, 2004. Attached are copies that were sent to both the Nipmuc Nation (Petition 69A) and the Webster Dudley Band of the Chaubunagungamaug Indians (Petition 69B).
There will be no further decisions on this matter until that time.
