NOTICE FROM THE STURBRIDGE TOWN CLERK
Massachusetts Fish & Wildlife has informed the Town Clerk of numerous changes. Hunting, Fishing, and Sporting licenses will now only be available electronically.
As Massachusetts Fish & Wildlife are not underwriting the costs of paper, color toner, printers and are insisting on access to our towns’ bank accounts for payments, our office sincerely regrets having to give up this service.
The license buyer may go online to www.mass.gov/masswildlife or contact their office at (617) 626-1590 to obtain a list of local vendors.

Town of Sturbridge 2012 Nomination Papers Available
Sturbridge Town Clerk, Lorraine Murawski, has announced that nomination papers are now available for the Annual Town Election to be held on Monday, April 9, 2012. Candidates must be registered voters and obtain 39 signatures of registered voters to be placed on the ballot. The following is a list of the positions that are open:

Licensing Dogs in Sturbridge
A reminder that the 2012 Sturbridge Dog Licenses are available and are due prior to March 31. 2012. Male and female dogs are $15; altered dogs are $10. Current rabies vaccination records are required to license your dog(s). Applications are available on the Town Clerk’s webpage as well as on the Town Census. Mail in licensing is encouraged (please follow directions) or you may stop in the office M-F, 8-12, 1-4. If you did not license your dog in 2011, Penalties will be levied for late registrations. Also, it would be extremely helpful with our record keeping if you would notify the Town Clerk’s office at 508-347-2510 if you no longer have your pet.

Often considered the core of local government, the Town Clerk’s Office serves as the central information point for local residents and citizens at large. The Town Clerk is the keeper of town records, the chief election official, a member of the Board of Registrars, official keeper of the Town Seal, registers all vital events occurring within the community and those events occurring elsewhere to local residents. The Town Clerk records and preserves birth, marriage and death records and provides certified copies of these records upon request.

Certified copies can be obtained by visiting the Town Clerk's 0ffice or by sending a written request as to what Vital Record you would like a certified copy of. DOG LICENSING
2012 Dog Licenses are now available. Male and female dogs are $15; altered dogs are $10. Current rabies vaccination records are required to license your dog(s). Applications are available on the Town Clerk’s webpage as well as on the Town Census. Mail in licensing is also available (please follow directions). Deadline for licensing your dog(s) is March 31, 2012. A $25/dog penalty will be assessed after the March 31st deadline to license.

Sports (hunting & fishing) licenses will no longer be available as of 2012. Visit the Massachusetts Fish & Wildlife website for additional information. 2011 fishing and hunting abstracts are still available.
