Water/Sewer bills for quarter ending 12/31/2011 were mailed on February 8, 2012 and are due on March 9, 2012.
Water and Sewer Rates effective with the quarterly bill for quarter ending 6/30/11 are: Water Rate $4.41/100 c.f., Sewer Rate $7.97/100 c.f. and if you only have Town Sewer the rate is $150 per quarter.
The 1st commitment of excise tax bills for calendar year 2012 were mailed on February 8, 2012 and are due on March 9, 2012.
The Town is currently accepting applications for the Tax Assistance for Low Income Senior and Disabled Citizens Progam. Information on this program can be found below. If you need assistance in completing the application please call the Senior Center at (508) 347-7575.
The deadline for applying is Wednesday, February 15th.

The Finance Department is made up of the offices of Treasurer/Collector, Accountant and Assessing Departments. The Finance Director serves as Treasurer/Collector and Information Systems Administrator. The Finance Director directs and coordinates the operations of various divisions of the Finance Department including Treasury, Collections, Accounting and Information Systems and coordinates the activities of the Assessing Department.
The primary responsibilities of the Finance Department include financial planning, procurement and investment of funds, collection of all taxes and fees, payroll and benefit administration, accounts payable, financial monitoring of the budget and maintaining comprehensive financial records.
TAX ASSISTANCE FOR LOW INCOME SENIOR AND DISABLED CITIZENS
The Town of Sturbridge has instituted a program aimed at helping elderly and disabled residents with the cost of property taxes. The program is called the Tax Assistance for Low Income Senior and Disabled Citizens program.
To participate, you must be:
65 Years or older or have a state-recognized disability
The property you are seeking assistance must be your primary residence.
Total gross household income must be less than $20,000 for individuals or $30,000 for couples.
You can obtain an application at the Finance Department's office in Town Hall, at the Sturbridge Senior Center or at the Joshua Hyde Public Library. You may also download an application by clicking here
