Story time registration runs from Feb. 7 to the 21st.
SPRITES (18-30 MOS.) TUESDAYS 10:45 A.M FEB. 28-MAR. 27
GNOMES (4.5-6 YRS.) TUESDAYS 1:30 P.M. FEB. 28-MAR. 27
PIXIES (2.5-4.5 YRS) FRIDAYS 10:45 A.M. (NO CURRENT OPENINGS)
DROP-IN STORYTIMES: THURSDAYS AT 1:30 P.M. MAR. 8 & 22
- Each child will need to be registered separately; one registration per child per lottery.
- Each child can only be registered for one program.
Once Story Times begin, please keep in mind:
- Promptness is greatly appreciated. Interruptions can upset some children’s mood and concentration.
- Toys and food are not allowed during story time. We will occasionally enjoy snacks at special times of the year, however.
- Each story time involves age-appropriate activities. Each story time has a certain number of places available in order that each child benefits from a positive, meaningful program.
- Please participate! Your child IS learning by watching you! Sing and play along with us! Otherwise, s/he may not fully enjoy themselves.
- Do not carry on personal conversations during story time. Turn off your cell phones, as well. Again, your child is learning social skills (or lack thereof) by watching and imitating your behavior. Give your child your undivided attention and enjoy this special one-on-one time!
- If your child needs a break during story time to settle themselves, feel free to leave the area and return when ready.
Weather Policy: If Sturbridge schools are closed, we will not be conducting story times. Please call the library to check on evening or weekend events.
Attendance Policy: If your family is unable to attend a scheduled story time, you must call the library (508/347-2512) to inform us of your absence. If your child has two or more unexplained absences, he or she will be withdrawn from the program. A child on the waiting list will then be invited to join the group.

Saturday, January 21: Second Chance Animal Shelter's Pet Care and Pet Responsibility Program. Join us for stories about caring for and loving our furry friends and maybe even meet one or two! Ages 3 and over with their favorite grown-up. Free. Register in advance. Snow date: February 18. Joshua Hyde Library. 2:00 – 2:45 PM. ***POSTPONED TO SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18***
