ABOUT SCTV:
STURBRIDGE COMMUNITY PUBLIC ACCESS TELEVISION (SCTV) maintains Public and Government television channels. The Town of Sturbridge has three channels:
Channel 11 GOVERNMENT; is for cable-casting "live" government meetings, the playback of recorded government meetings and other town government information.
Channel 12 PUBLIC is for public programming, public bulletin board (non-profit only) and all resident community information.
Channel 13 EDUCATIONAL; originating from Tantasqua Regional High School, Channel 13 posts school news and related information and re-plays recorded school events such as sports, graduations, music, stage productions, etc.
COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARDS
SCTV maintains the Public and Government channel bulletin boards. Non-profit organizations may utilize the Channel 12 bulletin Board. To have your message posted on the bulletin board, fax it to 508-347-5886 or email it to bbutcher@town.sturbridge.ma.us.
SCTV IS FOR THE RESIDENTS OF STURBRIDGE. Residents are invited to visit the studio/office at any time and have access to the new video recording and digital editing equipment. After training, residents are encouraged to remain involved, to volunteer and even produce their own original programs. WATCH ACTV!
"Fun With Dick and Jane" is Sturbridge's first original locally produced program. Sturbridge residents Dick Vaughan of WESO Radio and Attorney Jane Woodward discuss and debate national politics. The show airs on channel 12 Saturday and Sunday at 8:30am, 2:30 and 8:30pm.
NEW: SCTV has been recording informational programs at the STURBRIDGE SENIOR CENTER. Watch for them on channel 12. Current topics include: Nutrition, Hospice Care, Parish Nursing and the Sturbridge Police. ALSO, on May 10th we recorded our second cooking show at the Sturbridge Senior
Center. Named "GOURMET GRANNIES" look for it coming soon on SCTV Channel 12.
NEW: MEG'S MINUTES; Insurance professional Meghan Lynch advises about a variety of insurance issues. Look for these short segments along with other programs on channel 12.
NEW: THE TISH MACINTOSH SHOW: A family oriented Public Access Show featuring music, comedy and original sketches; lots of fun, from Somerville, MA
Channel 12 also airs a variety of other quality programs. Shows include:
ALL FIRED UP (Creative cooking with Chef Steve Uliss)
PHYSICIAN FOCUS (Physicians discuss a different medical topic on each show)
GO FISH (A widely distributed Public Access fishing show produced by Dan Kenney of Leicester Public Access Television.
DRIVE-IN THEATER Original SCTV Show! Drive-in Theater plays campy, nostalgic drive-in movies from the 1950's through the 1970's every Thursday night at 8pm, and now a Thursday Matinee showing at 2pm.
MUSIC AND THE SPOKEN WORD features the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and spoken words of inspiration
STURBRIDGE SENIOR CENTER A variety of informative seminars recorded at the Sturbridge/ Fiskdale Senior Center and NOW A NEW COOKING SHOW; GOURMET GRANNIES produced at the Senior Center.
