LEGAL NOTICE
TOWN OF STURBRIDGE
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
RFP # M-05

The Town of Sturbridge, by and through the Sturbridge Historical
Commission, is seeking proposals from qualified  historic preservation
consultants  to undertake the “Sturbridge Community-wide Historic
Properties Survey Update Phase ll.” Proposals  must be received at the
Office of the Town Administrator, Sturbridge Town Hall, 308 Main Street,
Sturbridge, Massachusetts 01566, on or before 10:00 am,  Friday,
August 25, 2017.

The Town of Sturbridge reserves the right to reject any and all bids or
to waive any  informalities in the Proposal process,  if deemed in the
Town’s best interest.

The Request for Proposals (RFP), containing scope of work, proposal
requirements, and evaluation criteria, will be/is available upon request after
10:00 am, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Office of the Town
Administrator, Sturbridge Town Hall, 308 Main Street, Sturbridge,  
Massachusetts 01566 or by contacting  the Town Administrator by
e-mail or telephone at lgaumond@town.Sturbridge.ma.us or
508-347-2500 X2.

Proposers must meet the following minimum qualifications: a Bachelor’s
degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, Art
History, or a closely related field, plus at least two years full_time
experience in an area relevant to the  project; or a Master’s degree in
any of the above_mentioned areas.

The RFP may be viewed and printed from www.town.sturbridge.ma.us  in
The Administrator’s Blog.  Questions regarding the RFP must be written and
either e-mailed to lgaumond@town.sturbridge.ma.us  or faxed to

National  Grid Tree work

National Grid will be performing utility line clearance tree trimming starting mid - November in the following areas:

RT 20 from McDonalds to Arnold Rd
All side streets off this section, including Arnold, Cedar, Burgess, Stallion Hill & Leadmine Roads
And all side streets off of these main roads.

Work will be done by Lewis Tree Service under the supervision of the Tree Warden.

Property owners where tree trimming will occur have been notified by mail by Lewis tree.

Hazard trees identified for removal will be scheduled.

Water Use Restrictions

As of 10/1/16 The Town of Sturbridge is in a VOLUNTARY WATER BAN as an effort to conserve water the following is requested:

Odd numbered services may water lawns on odd numbered days and even numbered services may water lawns on even numbered days. No lawn watering between 8AM and 5PM.

Employment Opportunities
Please check the "vacancies" link below for current volunteer or employment opportunities with Town of Sturbridge.

2017 Dog Licenses are due on or before March 31, 2017.  Male and female dogs are $15; altered dogs are $10.  Current rabies vaccination records are required to license your dog(s).  Applications are available on the Town Clerk’s webpage as well as on the Town Census.  Mail in licensing is encouraged (please follow directions).

Also, it would be extremely helpful with our record keeping if you would notify the Town Clerk’s office at 508-347-2510 if you no longer have your pet.

•Dog Licensing as per the Sturbridge General Bylaws Section 5.10.
