The attached graph and table demonstrates the effect the Town of Brookfield's proposal would have on the assessments for the member towns. Presently, all five member towns pay approximately $4,200 per student. Under the Town of Brookfield's proposal, Sturbridge would pay nearly $4,800 and Brookfield would pay less than $3,500 per student, or Sturbridge would be paying 38% more than Brookfield per student.
The question to amend the Regional School District agreement will be voted on at the Annual Town Meeting on April 29, 2002 and requires unanimous approval of all five member towns for it to go into effect.
